Achieving Your Dream Life In Reverse: Strategic Goal-Setting In 4 Parts

Alright. So we talk on end about goal-setting and how it’s just soooo important but when we set these massive, ginormous goals, how do we set out to accomplish them?

What happens in 90% of all cases, is that the goal is just too overwhelming and so we feel discouraged and give up. Not a great start. But here’s where the problem lies. It’s not that the goals are too big, but how we go about achieving them.

Now, as many of you know, I’m a big believer in personal growth and the way to grow your company is to grow your employees. So I shared with them an extremely important technique in goal-setting that they can use in their work and personal life.

It’s so simple. Ready to do this exercise? Then grab some paper and a pen and watch this video:

[flashvideo file=“https://finerminds.s3.amazonaws.com/vishengoalsetting.m4v” /]

I believe strongly in this technique and it’s how I’ve achieved some of my biggest goals. I’ve shared it with my office, my family, and my friends. It’s something you can do with your circle of friends and loved ones too.

Cheers,

Vishen

PS: Drop me a comment and let me know what you think.  If you know a way to make this technique even better, I’d love to hear it.

Excellent! To elaborate, you could also include the “why” or the real motivation behind the goal. How will it feel, what will it look like, what emotions will I experience, what good will be served when I reach this goal? Who will I have to become to reach this goal? Personally, the more descriptive, the better. Really excited to have found your blog :) Imagine if all workplaces took the time to do this!!!

Ariadne, just watch the video and you’ll know what to do with that pen and paper. Or if you’re more technology-inclined, get ready to type as fast as you can.

This video was very inspiring and really got me motivated. My dreams have always been just dreams. I know now I need to make lists as you’ve instructed, then follow through with those items on the list.

You might also provide guidence for people who think outside the box, who develop new, innovative products and serivices. These people don’t often have an office or company mentors to bounce ideas off of. For people like myself, to do lists can be as long as your leg. Thank you for giving me tools to write those to do lists.

A good technique is to review the list often and see it as being done. Images are what the subsonscious acts on, so give it what it needs daily.

    Hi Vishen,

    Just watched your video.

    Yes, what you teach WORKS.

    Here is my story…

A few years ago a respected friend and teacher asked me
a question. The question was… What do you want? If you
could have anything you wanted, what would it be?
My answer was… I don’t know! She then asked me to sit
down and make a list of what I wanted to be, do, and have.
No limits, just go for the best.

I made my list as she asked. Three months later I had received
EVERYTHING on my list. New home, new job, new car, working
with my selected teacher, great income, new friends.
100% as I had written it.

Here is the amazing part of this story. I made the list and
never looked at it again. When I finally realized I had received
it all, I looked for my list to check off the items. I NEVER
    found it!!!

    True story.

    Sicnerely,

    Mike

    Hello Vishen,
Maya Savic is here!I have a question about my workshop that I am working very hard to put together.
Ideally, I’d like to have live workshop to introduce people to the work of few Masters that I highly value. One of them being Gerald O’Donnell and his RVRI/Matrix,Silva Ultra Mind etc.
I have ben in this work since 1979, non-stop till current.
Currently, I am training RVRI with Mr.O’donnell’ CD’s.
I will need lots of marketing help, writing and packaging of the content of the materials that will be presented in my Workshop.

Do you have any idea where should I start?
Your suggestions, will be much appreciated!

    Love Light,

    Maya

    Hi Vishen,

I find this exercise is helpful just to have a game plan and focus on the to do list. I have been doing this for some time and there must be an element I am missing or some other outside force negating my focus. Even going through it again with this video, I found my anxiety level high with the daunting feeling of spinning my wheels. Any suggestions?

Excellent job Vishen. I have done silva, Burt Goldman, Tony Robbins and read few books since 1984. This is something which is worth it’s weight in gold.
Most teaches about the importance of writing down goals for 3 months, 6 month, 1yr etc.
But by working backward you have broken down a huge goal (usally unbelievable, just a wish) into managable and more BELIEVABLE tasks which are all progessively working towards a common outcome.
Importantly there is no conflicts in the mind since you used the same basic method for identifying the goal and for creating sub goals for accomplishment of the goal.
I just done the excersice and am taking action to complete a small task today.
    Thank you for the insight.

    Hello Vishen

Thought id write you and your team a note back.
I have been following you for some time and i do beleive in the ancient ways.
I also beleive we as spritual beings do not have to be a slave to the matrix realm.
WE create our own life and can change it at will, but there are evil beings that dont want us as spirts to ascend to the higher realms of life!!!
Where we can and will create our destiny no matter what other people say in life or try to do to us.
Remember the Atlantis people that was here on EARTH.
They were highly advanced people and our life wouldve been so much better if they were here to help us in person!!
Positive Energy will manifest your direction in life only then will you acheive
