I was reading the New York Times online the other day and an article caught my attention. The article, by Gretel Kovach, was titled “Pastor’s Advice for Better Marriage: More Sex.” Religion and sex in the same piece; this I had to read. Kovach covered a story on Rev. Ed Young, a Texas pastor, who encouraged his congregation of 20,000 to take up the challenge of Seven Days of Sex. In the pastor’s own words, a “sexperiment.”
Young, himself happily married for 26 years, is passionate about increasing the intimacy between couples. Speaking from experience, he thinks daily life–careers, kids and outside commitments–pose real barriers to the bond, particularly the sexual bond, between husband and wife. According to Young, sex can bring you closer to your spouse and to God. He also believes we need to do away with all the shame we carry around about sex.

What are your thoughts about this message coming from a pastor?

Why not? If sex is loving it can only be good.
I think this is a very modern pastor and I admit, it’s quite unusual in our “civilized” society only because it’s coming from a pastor. We also have to admit that the method can only help, given the crazy rythm we are living our lives. Sex is a healthy thing for couples, especially the married ones
Nevertheless, I’m not sure “religious thoughts” would help while applying the aforementioned method. Each person knows or gets to know eventually what is good for her/him and what needs improvement…

Yeah well that’s awesome & even abundantly divine!
… & as a Spiritual Being Of Light, I just want to add another point being that it is ‘the Universal Mind’ itself (The Father), whom instigates the divine act of sex & sexual intercourse so based on that principle & in deed the Universal Law of Love, it makes abundantly great sense to completely in~joy this Universally Given gift as much as, & where & when Divinely possible!
Just bear in mind that like everything else in the illusions of time-space, it’s really about the feelings, thoughts & emotions it creates as this is what you will in deed get more of, & more of, & more of!
& after all; in time-space there are NO LIMITS!
In~Joy!:)
Que viva el Sexo siempre joven o viejo.
How refreshing is that. I don’t understand so many minds. Everyone, well, nearly everyone have sex but most of the people in either make dirty jokes or don’t talk about it. If there would not be sex, humanity would perish. Ed Young good on you!

I think the pastor has some good ideas but should open his mind to the possibilities for single people. They have needs too and not everyone is marraige material. This is where the church has problems I think and could be seen as hypocritical.
My husband and I listen to Ed Young Jr. every Sunday.
He is very inspiring and always promotes a christian attitude in all his teachings. Sex is a very important part of marriage, it builds the close intimate trusting relationship needed for a long happy marriage. It’s about time sex be talked about in an open honest way and the “dirty” taken out and the LOVE put back in. KUDOS to Rev. Young
That’s gold !!
What do I think of a pastor saying this. Found it interesting, made me smile as I’ve been married for 31 years and had thoughts on the same lines as
Andromeda1.
What a great move! It’s about time that somebody had the intestinal fortitude to stand up & speak something against tradition or the status quo. In fact, this so-called Judeo-Christian morality which dominates our society today cannot be found within the documents which supposedly gave rise to it’s birth. Which morality is responsible for many of the ills in our society today.
I truly hope that this pastor doesn’t stop there and continues to bring forth truth in other areas and begin to break down many of the traditions that hold people captive today. Then follow through with the logical progression of things to begin to educate people to how the Early Church was hijacked by Rome in 325AD under the guise of Constantine, in which the words & teachings of Immanuel & his followers were distorted to become an agent of mass control. I know that this will be tough for many to swallow, but if people would begin to assume responsibility and begin to look for themselves, they will see this and far greater deceptions that have been bestowed upon the church.
For instance, most so-called Christians today are actually helping to carry out a Luciferian plan. Plus many of the well known Christian leaders are part of a eugenics society and their objective is clearly published in several languages in the Georgia Guidestones. You should read the UN document “Agenda 21″ that can easily be found on the United Nations own web site, which goes into this plan.
Anyway, I could go on about many things here, but I won’t and simply close by saying that I am glad to finally here of someone within the church begin to break tradition. Dr. Gene Scott used to deal with some of these issues, but things have been rather quiet in the church world since he passed on. I must get my website up soon to help document the facts and bring truth to the forefront.
Food For Thought: Did you know that a friction match, also called a strike anywhere match was also known as a lucifer, because the archangel Lucifer was the light bearer. But how can that be when Jesus is known as the light bearer?
