Spirituality Gets Down And Dirty — Why Staying Clean Isn’t Always Possible

dirty fingerprintsWhen we think of spirituality and self-growth, we often have a beautiful picture in our minds. And it’s true. It is a beautiful thing. Transformation and change can be the best things in your life and the results are often absolutely gorgeous.

But, what about the journey itself? The actual journey of self-discovery and spirituality isn’t always picture perfect. It doesn’t follow a set pattern, things can get messy, you might break down and cry (more than once), and things may just get a little dirty.

But this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s a learning process and you know that at the end you will come out a better person.

So check out this article as it delves into the nitty gritty and dirty essentials of personal growth and spirituality. It’s a little reminder that not everything has to be or necessarily is spic and span.

Dirty Spirituality

By Gary from ToltecSpirit.com

We like our Spirituality clean.  That is to say we like our spiritual journey to be clean, neat, filled with lots of wonderful happy experiences, and love.   If that’s all you want you can at best go„, half way.

That kind of spiritual journey ignores or denies dealing with the ego, self importance, fears, and various other illusions in the mind.  Coming face to face with your inner demons like the Judge, or Victim aspects of your personality are a dirty affair.  Being honest with our lack of impeccability, how we judge our self,  or other people, is humbling.  Miss those opportunities, and you miss out on dissolving the ego.

This business of cleaning up and dissolving your fears is dirty as well.  You can’t move through your fear of death, loneliness, or what others think of you, by looking at it from afar.  Nope.  You have to get dirty.  Be present with with those fears„, and stay aware and awake at the same time.   That’s how your emotional body gets cleaned of fears and emotional wounds.  If you try and stay “clean” in this work you will miss those wounds.  You’ll end up having a nicely spiritual coat over your emotional wounds.

That is so true… You can’t fully open if parts of you are closed due to fear and pain. We were born here and we walked a path that have definitely brought wounds to us but we have to face them, forgive, forget and cure them if we want to completely open to and embrace the flow of the universe.

And curing our ‘bad’ memories and wounds doesn’t necessary need to be an unpleasant experience — it’s something like jumping into a river from a cliff — first you get some water into your eyes and ears, you get a bit shocked and that’s unpleasant but then you completely emerge yourself into the nice, tender hug of the river… and everything is perfect :) .

This is so true. My evolution during the past three yrs has been intense. I have gotten down and dirty and now I feel as though the dirt has been swept away. I am emerging a completely different person. My consciousness has expanded in such a way I feel there is no stoping me. The best thing I heard recently was Esther Hicks when channeling Abraham, she revelad the secret…VIBRATION.….now we all knew it already but to hear it and actually practice it does wonders for cleaning the dirt away.…being to practice vibrating at such a high level the love and joy you feel could reach from on end of the planet to the other. Then you will see the power you have as a being on Earth!

One can be healed physically and mentally only through the Living God Jesus Christ. He is the ONLY answer.
one can argue that this is not true, but this is the fact no philosophy or science can disprove.
    blessings,

This article says a lot to me about my journey. Sometimes I think that the down and dirty parts of my life have been wasted times — when I could have been having fun, doing less tedious seeming work. This is a good reminder that down times are really necessary to clean up the cellars and attics — so that we aren’t content with our superficial selves as a replacement for our deeper selves.
