Ever hear the phrase "speak softly and carry a bit stick"? The proverb itself advises an outward appearance of non-aggression and but in reality is backed up by the capability to do violence if "needed".
It may have had it's use when Theodore Roosevelt was in power but how well does this ideology help in making a change in the world?
Now the reason why I bring this up is because of this talk by Jeff Skoll, the producer of An Inconvenient Truth and one of the founders of eBay. He talks about making a difference in the world and his inspiration to do so. But without violence.
There are many ways to bring change, either through movies or other forms of philanthropy, but they don't have to involve aggression.
What is your take on Jeff's method of spreading peace and enlightenment? Do you agree?

Wonderful, beautiful wisdom. Thank you for sharing this! Lila.
Five stars to infinity*****
In a world where philanthropy and consciousness often seems to be replaced by greed and singlemindedness, Jeff Skoll and others with such vivid vision are a welcome breath of pure air. Nothing is impossible with this kind of fortitude. Thank you.
This is GREAT! I agree with him 100%. I wish there will be many more people to inspire the world for peace, opportunities and hope. Well done and God bless!
Great idea. Let's start with encouraging parents to keep their young children away from violent movies and TV shows . Children's cartoons are filled with blatant violence masked as entertainment. The writers and producers of today have little regard for how their beliefs and ideas can shape an entire generation. As a Grandparent, I am truly concerned about the impact of this type of mind conditioning. Please encourage all the parents you know to pay attention to the amount of violence they are allowing into their homes. Most of today's entertainment is not funny, it's just glorifying hostility, and the society at large are laughing. Really sad....
Just because someone is wealthy, doesn't mean they don't care. Jeff Skoll proves that.
i agree with you 100%. this has made me change the way i used to do hip hop music. it now one LOVE and no violence, instead i will use hip hop to preach peace. thank i am inspired.
