Helen Fisher Explains Why We Would Die for Love

by Michelle Rogers

Dr. Helen Fisher is a scientist and a romantic. In the 15 minute video below Dr. Fisher explores why we crave love so much, even to the point that we would die for it.

To learn more about the human need for romantic love, she and her research team took brain scans of people in love (and of people who had just been dumped).

Her investigations have illuminated why we choose one partner over another and explore the differences in how men and women express intimacy.

What are your thoughts on Dr. Fisher’s love studies? Have you felt different depending on whether or not you’ve been in love?

Thank you for the affirmation .......as an energy healer I have often believed that antidepressants change who we are.......and not in a good way.
As an internet dater.....after chatting and determining all the ingredients are in place for a potential match......I tell the man I have to meet them face to face.........and eventually I have to 'smell" them ! ( usually a kiss does that ) We are after all animals ....and Pheremones can not be fooled.......they are real !!! (and ladies part of sweat)
I tell guys not to take it personally if it doesn't work ...they are just not for me .......
Funny sent this video to an Alpaca breeder and he said it was nice to know why his animals sometimes "will not "breed....and that it was NORMAL......now he knows they are just not attracted to each other.
Same with people ....some times everything is right but we are just not physically there...we cn not get use to or learn to live with or come to love someone that smells wrong to us....
...But the Skies the limit when we find the "good stuff" ! ..Here is to everyone finding someone that smells ( to them ) Glorious !!! Happy Thanksgiving !

This is such an awesome video. I love the stuff from TEDTalks.
I watched this one just about a week ago it is great!
And yes, I feel different when I am really in love then when i am not. Really, the chemistry can really mess with me and my head and the arrows that shoot through my stomach when they go through my mind, I cannot explain it, maybe I should not be able to, maybe that is the magic of it all....
Thanks for sharing the video it here too!

Tahnk you for this wonderful subject. In my personal experience & understanding, all the feelings & emotionals are part of learning about life & spiritual part of it. So, falling in love with another individual is like a taking courses in university for reaching to the gradation point. we need to experience physical love, till we are ready for the Ultimate Love of our Creator. That is the highest level of Love, & that is the kind of love that you won't be rejected. and That is the Love of the Third kind.
