It’s Been A While Since I’ve Seen Something Like This

oh. my. god.  You have got to see this.  My friend just showed me this video of this woman who pretty much got an audience of 2000 to shut up.

She was performing on the show, Britain’s Got Talent, which is similar to American Idol.  You still get Simon making his annoying cheeky remarks.

I almost cried at the end of this video (granted I also cry in commercials and public service announcements).  I really think it says something about NOT judging a book by its cover.  I’m definitely guilty of that sometimes.

Susan Boyle is 47, unmarried, never been kissed, and lives with a cat.  After you watch this, give me your honest opinion.  What did you expect to see?  What did you actually learn?

This video’s already been seen by about 35 million people and it’s only been up for a week.

Susan is truly amazing! I was lucky enough to be watching the show when it was first shown, and she warmed milions of hearts and lifted millions of spirits that night. She had told the judges her dream was to start her professional singing career — and then achieved it within the first five seconds of her singing! Talk about manifesting! I’ve never seen an audience transformed that quickly, from jeering, sneering mob to united, joyous, cheering throng.
She is to be admired because she overcame learning difficulties, school bullying and shyness to do this audition. She gave up her youth, the chance of a family of her own, and the opportunity to make career in singing in order to care for her elderly, sick parents.
She has taught us all a huge lesson, which is to see beauty in all beings. She is so natural and at home in her own skin that, in just one performance, she changed peoples’ perception of beauty on a global scale. This is surely a miracle?

This is a manifest to the true strenght that is necessary to go above the conventions and prejudjments that our society is very keen of just assuming for someone that is of the “normal” standard. Susan Boyle impresses more because she is a “ugly duck” that can. And it is such a lesson in humildity! Taylor in the video resumes it very well, we are all cinical thinking that she would crash and burn and just saw the cover forgetting a book is so much more than…

I stayed up last night and watched it over and over. Beauty is found in the most unexpected places, but only unexpected because we sometimes judge so harshly/ Thank God she had the courage to believe in herself.

I cryed too! Her smile is infectious.…she is beautiful. She is the epitomy of love…standing ground with innocent confidence. She didn’t waiver.…she gave her all.Her music reached in and literally grabbed my heart. I’ve listened to it several times and my reaction is the same everytime.
I think we have missed such beautiful musical tones for so long it brought us all to our knees. Has this opened the door to music once again? Hope so!

Beauty can shine in light in so many ways… to the “eyes of the beholder”. It shines in Susan’s presence with joy emitting from her at her pleasure in the reception of the passion in her song!
Her song brought sounds of beauty to everyone’s ears and joy to their hearts. The experience stopped the world for a brief moment and reminded everyone to be aware of beauty that surrounds us all in less “visual” ways! What a gift to our ever changing world!

I have watched this video several times and it never fails to make me cry. This lady is such a modest unassuming person with a huge talent and a soul to match. Hopefully the cynics among us have learned some lessons. Good Luck and God Bless you Susan Boyle. Liz

This is the 3rd time I have watched it and third time to cry. Really, you cannot judge the book by its cover. I am sad, too, for her at the same time because just imagine the years that have gone through her life and it is only now that her talent have been discovered. Just imagine how many more people in this world got talents and never had the chance nor the opportunity to show that they got something special about them.

    Learn Humans, and never forget!
The world is full of Susan Boyles!!! I am a voice teacher on the east coast and I have seen dozens of Susan Boyles come and go. All Gifted and all too plain looking to be recognized by the general public much less agents or promoters who won’t waste their time because their looks are not marketable. I have wasted years crying why these wonderful people are swept aside for the likes of people who can barely hold a tune much less move the heart. Yet we pay millions to hear the likes of certain unnamed talentless “Pretties” that lip sinc to recordings and can’t sing on pitch to save their lives. There are Susan Boyles in every field willing to share their gifts. Must we be slapped in the face by the likes of a show like BGT to wake up and learn to see people beyond our discriminations?

It’s good to know I am not alone in being brought to tears every time I hear and see Susan Boyle singing. I was blessed to find a clip of her singing “Cry Me A River” from a 1999 recording done for charity. Sadly, only 1000 copies were made. Just beautiful! Clearly, though, her time is NOW. I pray she can retain that beautiful spirit in the face of the insincerity, the glitz and glamor of the world’s spotlight.

“Forgive me Father for I have sinned” was what ended up saying after I finished watching, and attentively listening to her sing. I thought it was the funny part of the show — as there are always some like that. I settled to laugh a bit. I found my-self crying with joy throughout the show. Her free spirit touched my heart, her honesty and integrity was phenomenal — her voice extra-ordinary! I wondered how lonely she could have been not to be discovered this long? It is while listening to her that I realised how beaufiful she was — all she needed was update her cloth and maybe hair style like the others. I confess that I unconsciously judged her by her cloth before I even tried to see what she had to offer — I honestly appologize to her — I hope she forgives us all!. It is now her time — May God bless her and help her shine! She is incredible!

I have watched this video several times and introduced it to a few people who had not seen it. Susan Boyl is an angel. Her soul shinned through as the morning star– the dawning of a new day when people so need to give and receive love on a global scale. All I can say as I watch her video is “God bless you, God bless, God bless you!! God bless you Susan Boyle as you have blessed us with the sacred gift of your voice, your sincerity, your integrity, honesty, courage and love.
