Call it what you want, a sixth sense, a gut feeling, a dream. It could be God or it could be the Universe. Either way you look at it, for millenia, people have been receiving premonitions. When the Titanic sank, tens of people said they had dreamt it or knew in their gut it would happen.
I myself have had a friend who dreamed of his uncle dying. He did not reveal his dream to anyone until, eerily enough, his uncle died of a sudden heart attack. When he told his mother, she should have comforted him, dismissing his dream as a coincidence. Instead she divulged her secret to him. She had dreamt of the death too.

I loved this article and the subject matter. I do believe in intuitions or sixth sense, although nothing as dramatic has ever happened to me.
Anyone wanting to have these experiences can ask for help in their lives. As we’re willing to pursue a more spiritual life (as this article says) these things will reveal themselves more and more letting us know that we’re never alone. Whatever stage of life you’re at you are not alone.
Premonitions are useful when they can save our lives, etc. Seeing the future shouldn’t be our ultimate goal. Glimpsing things that are possible in the future is also helpful to encourage us now when we might be struggling.
We are here to learn how to become more spiritual. If that is your goal you’ll always have what you need through the good and the not so good experiences.
Trust your feelings about people and situations. Learn to listen firstly to your gut feelings and you’ll be well on your way to getting more and more messages. When you learn to detect that ‘first thought’ or ‘first feeling’ about something then you’ll receive and detect more and more helpful guidance.
I dreamed of the planes hitting the twin towers 6 months before they did.
Plus I dreamed a childhood friend overseas being killed by a bus and he was, several months later.
I dreamed a client committed suicide and he did; he hung himself in a ravine 4 months later.
Worst of all I dreamed of my Dad dying, a year before he did. (I never told them).
There have been many, many more ‘events’ including premonitions of my wife leaving, jobs being lost (and gained!). Lots of other ‘strange’ things too (although they are now normal for me); I’ve gone into burning structures and not had a hair on my head burned when I should have been burnt to a crisp — like I was in a bubble of protection.
When I was a kid I was electrocuted (twice) to no ill effect — it was like becoming ‘one’ with the electricity.
Great article and true. I have had several premonitions over the years. The most memorable was about 30yrs ago,I was to meet up with friends at our local watering hole after a 10hr work day. I had a strong feeling inside telling me not to go, that persisted. I must have passed out from exaustion after dinner, when I suddenly awoke in a cold sweat, at 4am. The next morning I found that my best friend, who I was to meet, was shot and killed,by an attempted hold-up man at 4am. It could have been me.
My mom about 20 years ago( I am now 40)died.I went to greece following her death to meet with family.during this time I met a lady who reads coffee cups and tells you your fortune.I sat back and listened.she said I would break up with the woman I was dating at the time and wind up with a woman who I knew and who had an initial of her first name which started with (D) with brown curly hair.I thought about the only woman that I knew(dorothy)a good friend and the only one I knew with that initial. I laughed when she said that and said the only woman I knew with that initial was already married.I joked with her and said imagine that,her breaking up a marriage to be with me or vise versa!I knew her for about 5 years and really loved her more than anyone.I used her as an example in my relashionships. as a matter of fact I used to tell the chic i was dating how much I wished she could be like dorothy.I dont know why (now I do)I said this.She replied“why dont you go marry her if you want someone to be like her.back in the states now I always remembered what the psychic said.I had a dream of her one day.I was opening my shower curtain to let her in (crazy huh) gets crazier!I am cruising the streets when in the opposite direction I saw her with a friend cruising.I stopped them was happy to see her and mentioned to her how I had a dream with her and wxplained it to her. she said she also had a dream of me and that we should talk.I gave her a call to talk.she told me she had a dream with me coming to take her away on a white horse and that I told her not to worry and stuck her with a needle and she woke up!she also told me that her husband and her were on the brink of divorce and that he had become a big gambler leaving her home alone while he took trips with friends to casinos.she also told me of a spychic who told her that she to would be divorced and going with a man with the initial starting with (G) for gus my name.It was shocking to both of us to share in these coincidences not thinking at the time how much more we would be sharing!we hit it off and are now married with 3 children always joking about these times!we still get premonitions that we share,people and friends we think about the day or so before and wind up calling or running into.sitiuations! we’re so perfect together!married now for 12 years and knowing each other like we were from some past life brought together again.(see the movie “what dreams may come”)with robin williams.see the end were the two children are reborn again from past lives and have an intuition that they dont understand yet.thats us!Maybe its because we have the perfect zodiac signs(I am a scorpio and she is a cancerian).who cares we’re perfect together and the energy we create is unmatched!
i had another one i forgot to mention earlier in my other story! here’s another.I had cancer @ 20. I am now 40. doc said i would never be able to have kids.I have 3 now. lying in bed with her i put my head on her stomach and lied there.I herd what i thought was a heartbeat.I thought to myself how ironic if after all the doctors said about me not being able to have children was false!My wife and I went to bed that night and the next morning she told me she had a dream with my mother who was dead .My mother in the dream told her to get ready a babys coming!sure enough we went to a doctor who confirmed her pregnancy! even our children catch these vibes from time to time.all true ! I thought this would be the perfect place to share these thoughts.People who are negative in there thoughts and ways dont understand.You have to be happy and in love to appreciate these wonders.Unfortunately people today are caught up in hype and desensitized to there feelings and perceptions.people wind up with the wrong energys surrounding them.better off being alone.love yourselves!
Yes I have had many premonitions, feelings, dreams, etc that have come true during my life.
I woke up screaming and sweating profusely after a dream. My mom dad and myself were in the dream. My dad was screaming my name, my mother had a gun to her head I was stuck in the middle and couldn’t do anything. I called my mom and told her of my dream. She was allright. the more they thought about it, the more they thought about his mom. Several phone calls later and begging for someone to check on her, they found her three days later on her bedroom floor, delirious from an overdose of potassium and a gun on her bedside table. She did not recover and passed a few days later. I know that her angels were prompted to seek help. I was the one they chose. Normally it would have been my mom. She was always having intense and acurate premonitions. This is one of many.

I haven’t had a premonition via a dream, I was placing suitcase in a car when it happend. Also had various experiences growing up and still looking fort answers, maybe a reader can shed some light on this for me;
Age 7:
With my 2 brothers fishing in a river in scotland, (bamboo cane with net in the end). They wanted me to take my wellies off and come in. I was scared about standing on a hook and cutting my foot. 10 mins later, my foot was gashed open and I aws off to hospital for stiches. I now have scar in the perfect shape of a fishing hook.
Age 9:
helping my dad pack the car for trip to Newcastle about 2 hours before we set off. As a lifted a suitecase into the boot (trunk) I saw a vivid image (incl. sound) started with hearing my mum scream, I jumped up from a sleeping position on the back seat, the car was skidding, couldn’t see anything in front, only the dark (night time) but looked out the back window and saw alot of smoke and a strip of what appeared to be rubber shoot off across the motorway. apparently, a car had pulled off the hard shoulder, on a corner travelling at a very slow speed. Fortunately, we didn’t hit it.
Age 10
Camping trip in Cornwall with the covenenter camp. Called my mum and dad as knew my uncle had not been well. They didn’t say anything until I told them I knew Uncle Jack had died that day.
Age 13:
watching a football game (soccer) with some friends, got up from my chair to get a drink and on may way to the kitchen, got a feeling on who would score next (the number of the player and team). I shouted it through from the kitchen. 30 seconds later, he scored. My mates freaked !
Age 14:
Was playing a fruit machine and as I put the coin in the slot, I new 3 mellons (1 quid win) would come in that go and that it would hold 5 times. It happened, it was also very unusal for that machine to hold more than 3 times.
Age 14:
walking home from a freinds house (approx 2 miles) in the late hours. Had the delights of walking passed the local church yard in the fog. Just as I walked past it, all the street lights went out. after the churchyard, I had to walk down a narrow lane, I looked up at the streetlight and through you bast*rd, it instantly came on (no other street lights did).
Age 19:
Was at a Company Christmas party. Bought a raffle ticket and as I held it, I knew that out of 15 prizes, I was going to win the Stereo. It happened 30 mins later.
Age 20:
Was out driving with one of my mates down a country road that we had driven down many times before, (he was also their for the soccer incident). I got the feeling we would leave the road and land in a field in 3 corners time. It happened 1 minute later.
Age 29:
I was returning from a flight (Stansted Airport UK) exceeding the speed limit as I approached Colchester on my way to Felixstowe. I had a feeling the police were close and that I should slow down. As I popped over the incline and approached the bridges, I noticed 40 plus police getting trained with Radar Guns. The force was clearly strong that day !
In addition to the above, whe I receive calls from the wife (home or mobile/cell phone), I always know who it is before I look at the number on the caller id. This has been the case for 10 years.
I am now 39. I don’t have too many other experiences nowadays but used to have a lot than mentioned here when I was younger.
Any ideas on answers or anyone with similar experiences ?
I found this Site because Iwas looking for people with similar stories to mine. I occasionally have premonitions, but not sure if they are just dream fragments. I listen to them anyway just in case.
My weird experinence is that a stranger read my mind. I had recently moved to New Mexico from a crowded Midwestern city to attend college. I was sitting in classroom, which was completely quiet except for the Instructor’s droning voice. My mind wandered and I was looking at a young woman, my age, and thinking about her appearance. I thought, “She looks as if she came right off a ranch”. This is what I said inside my head. Some minutes later when the class was over, she came up to me and repeated my thought about her to me exactly as I had thought it. I was deeply embarrassed and hurried away. This was 25 years ago. I don’t remember anyother encounters with her. I think she did not continue with the class, I completed it.
