I had not done this before because (question #2) Im not sure what to tell people when asked what makes me a "coach" (how are you qualified etc.)? What should I say when they ask about my 'qualifications', and why they should give their money to me as a coach? Were my practice (massagetherapy/bodywork) were more $ucce$$ful I could handle that, but being in a new (2 yrs) city and "rebuilding" its not what it could/should be... hmmmmmm Hope you have a good answer for me

I got a 7 when I went back and looked over the questions. I am a registered massage therapist and I didn't know that I was coaching as I massaged, but now I realize that I do.
It would be wonderful to be paid for this.

Yes, I am always trying to improve upon what I've got - if money is any gage, I'm not doing so well. I am trained in teacher college to give it away - and I do. Hi David, I'm always giving advice to people on interior design, clothing/accessories selections, makeup, etc.....If they see it in my home they copy it in their own homes...If I'm wearing it, they want to know where I got it or even ,sometimes, if I see another one would I pick it up for them.......I know this is definately the 'personal shopper'
'coaching', but I can't wrap my head around people paying $$$ for this service in these economic times....and also, where the devil would I find a viable list of clientele with no 'certifications' under my belt or past experience..........being accredited is paramount....people want to see or, at the very least, know you have a 'piece of paper' that validates and gives them the confidence to hire you and pay you.........what am I missing? alot???? And believe me, there is no question that when you're assisting people with these (what many people would consider) frivolous endeavors, a deep bonding often occurs...and that's when the dialogue begins and people 'open up' and now you've entered into another completely different 'coaching' situation.....time=$$$......and what exactly constitutes 'coaching'...lots of ?s....cannot find the 50 ? download on this page....Oh! and my answer to question #1 is 6.......

Asking a number 1 question on coaching for me at this time is almost impossible. i have several questions that have crossed my mind and answering the questions really got me thinking. Doesn't coaching deal with different spheres of life and entail specializing or coaching in a particular area/topic and how experienced do you have to be to start coaching.

Amazing 7/7. My wife and I joke about this all the time. People do not know me and after a couple minutes share personal, confidential information with me. She always says I love to give free advice and it will be nice if I got paid for it. To my surprise I spoke to 1500 people at a personal development conference last year about my life story, challenges and successes. I was amazed at the response I got, even at several events after that. People came up to me and said I changed their lives, I am a leader and I can touch people internationally. The Australians and Canadians were so impressed I was pleasantly surprised.
I thought about coaching but saw the obstruction of having to go out to corporations etc and bid for engagements. So this has held me back. I love Personal Development and share with people that they have the power to create their lifestyle and live their dreams.

Number 1 question about coaching: I have found that in most cases, people have their own answers and simply need validation and encouragement. Yet, sometimes people are so afraid of change that they don't have the motivation they need to make the change. How do you help them get past this?

This past spring I started a website... which isn't published yet as well as an unpublished book - soon to be complete. Then started to doubt whether I had anything to offer until I looked around and realized how many people surrounded me, confiding, asking direction and more.
I will print up the business cards finish the site which is mainly information, which I will include your link. I think and feel it would contribute greatly to my own growth and look forward to the opportunity to help others even in what I feel are the simplest ways.

I scored 6 out of 7; I'm not in the caring/health industry. In my humble opinion, the key to coaching is the starting the shift, that changes the thinking, that leads to positive action. How do you protect yourself from ultra resistant 'clients' who's thinking is not only resistant to changes, but positively aggressive toward change and therefore, potentially toxic?

I've been coaching my whole life but I'm finding that it is requiring much more of my time so that is why I've decided to flow with it and let it become my career.
My Questions: What's the best way to communicate with our youth in a coaching environment?
I write children's books. I have the child learn a life lesson and the book also opens the eyes of the adult reader to see the value of a childs spirituality. And help the child keep that as they grow older. I have been trying to get a publisherer that will print on demand and mail these for me. The printers I have found only do 9 x 7. In landscape. I feel stuck. Some of the books are coloring books. That is not large enough. I feel these are coaching books now that I have listened to your video. I do have a person to help sell e books. I am just stuck on publishing. How do I move forward?

Yes, I have always had this "pause" when it came to asking for a monetary reward for my counseling...even though I spent thousands of dollars on my own education/spiritual/intellectual growth and evolution already...and never ever managed to apply any of this knowledge to making a living...I always thought that I have to know more, learn more,study more...so I could have all the answers for the people...but I have discovered that it is an impossible task...one can never know everything there is to know???
So my question for you would be:
Can you help me /teach me/advise me how to materialize all my knowledge, intent, skills related to counseling/coaching into a real business that does bring, as you put it, "money, so we could put food on the table"???

). I have a degree in teaching, but not in any type of therapy, although whilst teaching (and up to this current day, honestly) I felt/feel like more of a therapist/healer than anything else! I frequently help people with dietary changes, energy blockages, self-sabataging behavior, meditation, etc. etc. etc.!!
I am currently pursuing training in several "energy healing" methods and am excited to start practicing (on people other than close friends and family
I do wish to charge for my services, because I currently am not employed (I am a stay at home Mom), but I do not know what is reasonable to charge, or where I will begin to practice (I am thinking home visits, currently, but am unsure of this). Thank you for the advice! It is much appreciated!

I got 6 out of 7. I am really looking for the right job. I did a one year training for coaching but did not start a business. I would like to have the questionnaire please.
I did even print a business card in 2004!! but then I always thought there are more experienced people, they have studied (my teacher was academic - biology and psychology) I did invite for practice some friends- but I had a negative experience with someone who had been in therapy for years- this I cannot do! (such cases) . I do coach people continually and improve their life or at least calm them down or give them hope.

I scored 7 out of 7, which surprised me. My question would be, what do you say when clients ask for your credentials? I don't know how to respond to that since I don't have a degree in counseling. I have almost completed a degree in English (Creative Writing), and I want to write self-help and inspirational articles that help people look at things differently, to change despair into hope. That is my life's goal and my purpose in life, but I never would have thought of myself as a "coach," even though it makes perfect sense.

I personally scored what I figure to be 6 out of seven and I could actually be 7 because I already have a coaching business.
I actually seek out coaching for business owners because they have issues that often cause their business to actually stall. they get so bound up with the problem that they can't get past a barrier or two and the actually abandon the path they were taking which often times would be an entirely different approach to their bottom line income.
I also do business consulting which is associated with some degree of coaching in a little different format. From this coaching business I have developed a system that is presently ready to launch that will get most of the unemployed back to work in a position where they can not ever be laid off of a job again. the process is monumental and you can get a bit of an idea of what it is by going to http;//www.employalternate.com.

7/7--AWESOME since I'd already decided last week that I wanted to add coaching to my repetoire (sp?) of income streams.
Question--Is it good form to give people a tape or CD of the sessions? So far I've only done followo-up e-mails with a synopsis of what we've talked about during the session.

Business cards! That's what I did. I got them printed for less than 10 dollars! Now I am making notes for coaching my clients And yes, I have spent over US $1000.00 for self-development courses and books but it never occured to me that I could make money out of that knowledge.

i rated 7 out of 7. i have been involved with striving for personal knowledge since i was a young teenager by listening to audio tapes and reading books. I just turned 35 and took a my first transformation course the end of last yr and have driven to San Diego from Las Vegas several times over 7 months time to continue my education. I yearn for the knowledge and have discovered yet another education that i have been referred to that IS available in Vegas. Everyone tells me i should coach or be a speaker. I finally agree, i gained the confidence through my past education that i am pretty darn great at guiding them through their TRUE potential and experience True Happiness. i did recently awaken to the idea of making money through my gift, by having my first breakthrough in selfworth and a "i deserve" transformation.

I am catching up on my Finer Minds issues. I got all 7. While I have spent the last 20 years being an animal communicator, animals most often "mirror" things to their people just like humans do, so mostly I was coaching people.
I have realized I can CHOOSE my clients and some people I are not a match.
