Do You Do the Gratitude Dance?

by Marjam Vaher

When was the last time you felt grateful for something?

Ok, and the last time you actually expressed your gratitude for something?

Scientific studies show that expressing gratitude on a daily basis literally makes people happier. Gratitude research by McCullough and Emmons revealed that only a small daily dose of gratitude makes you more alert, enthusiastic, determined, optimistic and energetic. Additionally - a grateful person feels less depression and stress, is likely to help others, exercises more regularly and makes more progress toward personal goals. And above all - grateful people are more likely to be loved.

And this ain't some new age mumbo jumbo folks - this is from scientific studies!

Enter the Gratidudes...

Two guys that call themselves the GratiDudes have taken the whole concept to a higher level. They're aiming to change the world by helping people to become more grateful with a funny Gratitude Dance. The video has already gained huge popularity in YouTube. The idea is simple - all you need to do is to write down the things you are grateful for, turn on the video and do the dance!

You have to watch it yourself, smiling and laughing is guaranteed! Showing your gratitude can be a lot of fun - and having fun is one of the ingredients of happyness!

Don't forget to let us know how it worked (and what funny situations you ended up in)!

PS - that's not all, the guys behind FinerMinds will be launching a new website soon that will give everyone a unique way to express gratitude to the world and to loved one. Check out GratitudeLog.com. It's launching in a few days and this is the first public hint of it on the Internet. Remember, you heard it first on FinerMinds!

I love it. I have seen it before and this is a great time of year to bring us back to a ritual that helps us through the tough times, help us celebrate the great times and just refocuses us on what is really important when we get off track. I just sent an online module to be tested in a series called the Natural Path to Happiness about the Gloom Buster: Gratitude- perfect timing. I will sent this on to my Happiness warriors.

Thanks for keeping us dancing,
Bonnie

Now I know why I often times just break out in words to the Gratitude Song! It's because it reminds me of the little things that I should be thankful for each day! I am thankful today for a long awaited phone call. He keeps on doing Great things for me! That's why I'm Grateful! Keep it up you Guys and you'll go far in life! I'll see you at the Top of the Grateful Mountain! Once again thanks for making my day with The Gratitude Dance! I will remember to use it each day and to teach it to my students as well. I Promise! Thanks!

Now I know why I sing the Gratitude Song each day. I just reminding myself of how grateful I am for just the little things in my life. For example like to day I receive a long awaited phone call that encouraged me. You, He keeps on doing great things for me. I must stop each day to be mindful of the the fact that is not I , but my collaborator who lives inside of me that make live possible each day. I want to thank you for coming up with such a dance of joy! I will see you at the top of the Gratitude Mountain! Thanks! Omiyinka7

Just the thing I need today! I really liked the film, the way people express their positive feelings. I'm going to try it, as well and I'm sure it works with everyone. The start may be a little difficult, but it is worth trying :)

Let's become better and better dancers :)

Have a nice evening,
Ra

Love this video, have seen it before & it always makes me smile. Strange coincidence received your email and another from a friend who just got the all clear from a long illness. She also added pics of her dancing her joy.

So yes, did the Gratitude dance with feeling twice this morning.
Great way to start the day acknowledging all that is good and wonderful in life, which we sometimes forget in the haste of day to day life.

Hope you all did the dance this morning and felt as good as I did after, even my old Labrador joined in.

Thank you. Elly.

Been doing a THANK YOU dance all my life. Great to see young ones passing it on using the power of the internet.

Critical mass is only 5% of the world population.
It takes things like this to replace and cancel the FEAR messages that cause uus to judge, rage and give up our power to those who wish to controll it all.

Rest assured..."The FEAR MONGERS ARE LOOSING CONTROLL!" Those who generate FEAR know this because they feel it as we hand fear back.

"Together...we are healing the world.
GOOD JOB!! & THANKS

Yes, the Gratitude Dance is invigorating and inspires you to want to get up and join in the dance.
Very heart-warming. Try it, it will make you feel happy, even if you are a staid old f...rt.

Sure glad all your lives are wonderful. Gratitude, for what? That suggests something good has happened. Nothing good has happened for me, ever. Life is the same old society driven garbage, you've got to do this, that or else. Have a nice day.

Todd

Todd, Is there not one moment of your life which is good.? Not one second when you think , oh well, yes have food, shelter and family or friends.? You have access to a computer, that in it's self is something many do not have, Its a wonderful world of discovery, the web like having a library at your finger tips.

yes I agree, much of life these days makes one sad
but if you give up and say yes you win....what then.
So i take your words have a good day and wish that for you also.

And if you care to share and say why you are so despondent and down. who knows someone here may have a solution.........
i for one wish you well. Hope that may count for something.

Wow Todd you are realy pissed of. I guess you haven't learned to work with society. Society is nothing but a learning experience, It is full of games you can play in or choose not to play in. It has rules and regulations, it has umpires, referees, penalties and it also has rewards. Once you learn how to play and stop blaming everyone for your problems you will become gratful for food, clothing, shelter, interesting friends, and interesting places you can visit. Otherwise you will only have anger, resentment, and hate as your play mates for the rest of your life.
You can change you thoughts and have a wonderful life.
