Set Your Intention, Live Your Dream — Making The Best Out Of 2010 With Brian Johnson

What’s the best way to start off a new year?

No, it’s not a long list of resolutions and it’s not waiting for spring either.

But, YES, definitely make a list of accomplishments you want under your belt in 2010. It’s just how you finish your goals that’s different from the typical brute-force, sheer willpower New Year’s resolutions that most people make.

Instead, check out this video from Brian Johnson of PhilosophersNotes below and let 2010 be a year of success and play.

It involves INTENTION, rituals, and just letting the outcomes take care of themselves. Awesome video and a fun way to live your greatest life.

Thanks, Brian. I am going to do a mind map today and apply your principles. I have been lost for a long time, not achieving much, letting life take me wherever it leads. Little focus. My Mom just died and rather than going further down, I want to apply your ideas. But what if you never really can figure out what you want to begin with?

      hey cheryl:

my rec: as marcus aurelius says, “never confuse yourself with visions of a lifetime all at once.” i think we can stress ourselves out by thinking we need to know EVERYTHING we want ALL THE TIME! says who?!? :)

i’m all about simplifying our lives, breathing deeply, loving ourselves, and getting in touch with our Highest selves thru patient practice of the stuff we know to be true.

so, i’d suggest you start with something simple like: what’s the #1 thing you just *know* would be great for you if you did it consistently?? and is now a good time to playfully rock it?!? :)

      love and high fives,
      –bri

Thanks Brian, I appreciate your clarity. I came onto this system myself but had not put it into words. Intention is the driver. In so knowing that, my outcomes have usually out performed my goals. Thanks for making this clear and now more conscious to me. I look forward to learning more from your presentations.

right on, jack! and here’s to diligently, patiently, persistently and playfully rockin’ the rituals as well! :)

    Brian,

Thanks for the video. The things you showed us makes so much sense. It is easy to get caught up in the end result and ignore the process and rituals. The frustration sets in because we don’t get the outcome, when we didn’t have the rituals, consistency, & persistency to achieve that outcome.

Brian, thank you for your uplifting New Year’s mini-lecture on how to achieve more in 2010. There are 4 possible types of people

    1. Those who see an outcome but take no action because
they believe it is not possible and remain in an unhappy
place or in the same place for an extented period of
    time.
    2. Those who see the outcome and take lots of action
but achieve less than desireable results and wonder
what happened, they experience disappointment and
live in a deep valley for a while.
3 Those who see the outcome, take consistent action,
and achieve the desired results and are then experience
    happiness.
    4. Those who see the outcome, believe it is possible, take
action, are happy in the process, then achieve more
than they could have possibly dreamed, level of happiness
is elevated to Mtn Peak level.

Have you read “Who Moved My Cheese?” Which one of these people do you want to be, now that is the question. Being happy in the process of doing is one of the keys to overall happiness whether you achieve your big dreams or not.

So Yes, I love the concept of being playful while being persistent, diligent, and patient.

Love and Gratitude for sharing your work with all of us,
    Theresa
