2. Credibility and credentials — don’t people expect you to have credentials? Or perhaps I should say I feel I need credentials to charge for this service. How do you go from free advice, guidance and coaching to paid advice, guidiance and coaching?

7 out of 7 A huge surprise. I never thought of it as coaching. I guess my question would be, ” since I have been doing many of these things since high school and I’m 71 years young, how do I transform from “friend helping friend” to “paid coach to friend”. Perhaps it is too late to change.

I got 7 out of 7! Of course, as a college professor, am I not already getting paid as a coach to my students ( I am a choral conductor/conducting teacher). How is it possible to generate more income on top of that? What would be the charge? How can I set it up?

Well, 6 if you count what I’m studying and the sort of volunteer work I’ve tended towards for the 6th trait.

My number one question: I’m in my mid 20s. What are some of the advantages to being/having a relatively young coach? Are there any techniques that are particularly helpful for attracting clients in that sort of situation?

I scored6/7. I have spent some money on self improvement, but not the amount you mentioned, I hope! I am a teacher, tutor, youth group leader and currently working four part time jobs to try to make up for not having a current full-time job. The idea of making money doing what comes naturally to me is a new one. However, I just recently took your test to see if I am ready for a life coach and the answer came back yes. But when I tried to answer the questions in your first session, I was unable to give an answer. Can I still be a life coach for others? I know I often give advice even though my own life is in chaos.

Thank you for being a sharing person.….….……without realizing it I have come to understand that indeed I have been a ‘life coach’ on some level, always listeneing and encouraging friends and strangers alike to step out in faith and to persue thier dreams and desires. To me it just seems to come naturally and I Love it!!!! Like so many of the other respondants I have no clue or idea how or what to charge, I am a Reiki Master and Healing Hands Therapist and even so I have simply asked for a ‘love offering’, (not very often gratifying $ ) but.….….….. would love to be more professional in accepting clients, would you suggest that I state my rates and be clear about the “time factor” up front as so often time just gets away from me and I end up with earning about 7cents an hour . lol. I thank you for your encouragement, and your generousity.….….….….….…..Sincerely, Kath
