Dear David,
First off, you are adorable and I loved that you introduced your cat!
I am redefining my career goals. I just today qualified as a handler and my dog as a therapy dog to get certification to do therapy with the Good Dog Foundation.
I am a psychotherapist LCSW(20yrs), my private practice has been on hold now, seeing old patients once in a while, for 7 years. Once my son started school I have been running school events.
I am involved with the ADHD organizations and am looking to work with that population's needs. I would like to do one on one, group, and motivational/workshop speaking. I have done that before and I was successful with an EAP doing workshops. All of it outside the paperwork required by insurance. companies!
Question: Doesn't it seem natural that adorable, wonderful you organize a coaching network so those you inspire can maintain contact and be part of a group? Then you can hire me to assist you giving professional advise and positive motivation.

Well I'm a bit late in watching this, but I got 6 out of 7. I was a computer programmer by trade. But am learning hypnosis and I am pretty good at motivating people.

Love the idea about business card printing. I've got a good laser printer here at home, so I'll start off with my own.

Question: What to charge? Around here (Las Vegas) things are very tight.

I am not sure if you would believe me or not, I have done all the seven things you mentioned though not everything is very often. 6 of them are very regular. Showing different perspective is the one I have done not so often.

I got 7/7 - I do coach people for a living but it was an interesting video and questions because all of the questions you asked - I have always done - before I ever did coach and train for a living.

I have a card but I think I will get another one - that just has my name on it and email address and phone number. It would be very easy to give out and may be less intimidating than our business card.

6/7 and that's only because I've put my limited income into my family and found other ways to access those self-help resoureces. If I counted up all the self-help stuff i've accessed and read, it'd definately be thousands! But I've done a lot of "ten-day free" trials and free downloads like this one, and having friends share their books and programs with me, so I can take that information and take it further out into the world. However, this video SO describes me!!! LOL - I had even printed out the business cards, I carry them in my purse. #1 Question - How do I keep from sabotaging myself? I coach *everyone* I meet naturally (no, seriously,) but I'm terrified of doing it as a business, the charging and billing of clients scares me - I'm afraid people are not going to want to pay for what they can get for free just talking to friends. How do I control that fear and find confidence in my skills? Thanks in advance...

I do some public speaking, and coach & teach within my profession, but I am not paid extra for my coaching. I have also been on a personal growth journey for quite some time. Not quite sure how to parlay the coaching part into a source of income, as well. I am known & respected in my industry in my community. I'd appreciate your insights.

My score was 6 out of 7. I have always been there helping people for as long as I can remember. Although, there are times when dealing with my own life that I don't feel I should charge for helping. I am always going through self help material and practices to try to become a better human being. I have been told by friends that I should become a professional. Never thought of it that way though.

I am a bookkeeper/secretary for a small aggregate company. So my question is how to chose the rate at which you charge for the services?
