I'm sure many of you have heard of Jill Bolte Taylor. She is the neuroanatomist who had a stroke and managed to study it and recover from it.
In this amazingly brilliant TED talk, Jill gives a stirring speech on the differences between the left and right brain and the complexities and peculiarities of having your brain shut down.
Her inner dialogue during her stroke is both profound and humorous and dares to question the state of Nirvana and how all of us have the ability to reach that state of bliss. It took a stroke to make her realize it but perhaps by watching this video, you won't have to go through the same hassle.
Hopefully your children don't get their hands on this article. A study by Keele University researchers found that volunteers in an experiment could withstand pain for a longer amount of time when they were swearing.
